Call for Submissions
Green Olive Films is looking for features, series and docu-series that can be produced in Cyprus either for local or international audiences.
Deadline: 30th of December 2022

Submission requirements:
- Submission release form (Download here)
- Script or treatment for feature / Pilot script for series / Outline or pitch deck for docu-series
- Proof of copyright or chain of title, whether original work or adaptation
- Any additional material like pitch decks, mood boards are welcome but not essential
These should all be compiled into one PDF document.
Submissions can be in English or in Greek.
Submission rules:
- This call is open to all writers, emerging and professional, of all nationalities who have a project that can be set in Cyprus. However, we are especially keen to support local talent, meaning creators who live and work in Cyprus.
- You can submit more than one project.
- There is no fee to submit your project.
- Scripts should be submitted in an acceptable script format.
- You have to hold the copyright to the material or you have to have permission from the copyright holder to submit or if based on third party IP, you have to have available proof of chain of title.
FAQ:
Why do I need to submit a synopsis?
The synopsis helps us to evaluate your project and in many cases will determine whether we proceed to reading the script. So make sure it’s well written!
Why do I need to sign a Submission Release Form?
This is standard practice for production companies accepting material directly from writers. This protects us from any liability and you in terms of keeping the project confidential within our company during the evaluation process.
Can teams of writers submit?
Yes. Just include all names and bios in the submission form.
What is Proof of Copyright?
Proof that the material you’re submitting belongs to you. If it’s original work, you can obtain this through a writers’ guild like the Scriptwriters Guild of Greece (https://senariografoi.gr) or the Writers’ Guild of America (https://www.wga.org). If it’s an adapted screenplay, you need to show chain of title, meaning proof that you have optioned the rights of the original material upon which your work is based.
Will I receive feedback on my project?
We will be unable to provide feedback on all submissions, but we will inform all applicants whether we are interested or not.
